House calls are usually the optimal service for behaviour management of pets because:
- Pets are more likely to show the problem behaviours in the home environment
- Viewing the home environment is important
- Watching the pet interact with its owners in the home is important
- Watching the pet reacting to local stimuli, such as visitors and pedestrians enables Dr Cam to gain a better insight into many problems behaviours such as barking and aggression
- Some pets don't travel well (especially cats!!)
- You may found a house call is more convenient as you don't have to travel away from home with your pet in your car.
If your pet's problem is serious and worrisome, then a full-therapy house call consultation is the recommended service
Dr Cam also conducts house calls on the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and other areas of South-east Queensland as needed. Additional travelling fees apply for these areas.
Benefits of a Full-Therapy House Call
- An assessment of the problem (duration usually about 30 minutes).
- Then the therapy follows and takes at least another 90 minutes.
- A written Web-Assist Treatment Summary is prepared on the spot so you have written confirmation of what you should be doing. This is like your own front page to Dr Cam's Pethealth.com.au website.
- You will be given a Sound Advice Audio CD so that every word of therapy is trapped and nothing important falls between the floorboards. Most folk listen to that in their car while they are driving.
- Free telephone back up is also provided for the duration of your web membership.
- Reduced-fee recheck consultations are part of the service and are another member's benefit

Consultation hours are:-
- During normal business hours, Monday to Friday
- Evenings usually on Tuesday and Wednesday.
If you have booked a house call:-
- Don't tidy the house – Dr Cam is very comfortable with mess! (Happy pets live in cluttered houses!!!)
- Please provide a table and power point so that Dr Cam can take notes on his laptop which he will also use to show techniques and instructional photographs and also so he can produce your written Web Assist Treatment Summary and your Sound Advice Audio CD
- If your pet is aggressive, please restrain him or her until Dr Cam can see what's happening – Dr Cam does bleed if bitten!
Terms and Conditions
- The fee covers you for two hours of consultation time and travelling to the Brisbane City Council boundary.
- Any time after that is time-charged at our normal rates.
- Additional travelling fees apply for consultations outside of the Brisbane City Council area. You will be billed separately for additional travelling on the day of the service.

Cam, Thank you so much for your time earlier this week - it was a pleasure meeting you and receiving the easy-to-manage solutions you presented to us. Surveillance has commenced and we are keeping a record in preparation for our 3 week review. Mia is almost like a whole new girl! We absolutely LOVE the Leave-Come-Sit procedure - it's brilliant. Cam, thank goodness for house calls. To have Rambo assessed in his home environment was so important as you could see first hand his reactions to certain situations which would have been more difficult to observe in a surgery. I also believe more behaviours were evident in his environment and his actions prompted the relevant questions which we could expand on in detail. Travelling with him at this stage would have been difficult. We were very impressed with the extent of the investigations into his behaviours and I found this enabled you to diagnose him very accurately. I have full confidence in your diagnosis and we started to implement the lessons learned immediately on your departure. We will patiently continue with all your recommendations and look forward to a more relaxed and better behaved pup in the near future. Thanks again with kindest regards, Cheryl and Andrew Craig. P.S. I will probably start saying Leave, Come, Sit, Seek in my sleep soon!!
