Extra Information

Full Therapy House Call

$752.64 Member's Price $677.38 if pre-paid)

House calls are usually the optimal service for behaviour management of pets because:

  • Pets are more likely to show the problem behaviours in the home environment
  • Viewing the home environment is important
  • Watching the pet interact with its owners in the home is important
  • Watching the pet reacting to local stimuli, such as visitors and pedestrians, enables Dr Cam to gain a better insight into many problems behaviours such as barking and aggression
  • Some pets don't travel well (especially cats!!)
  • You may find a house call is more convenient as you don't have to travel away from home with your pet in your car.

If your pet's problem is serious and worrisome, then a full-therapy house call consultation is the recommended service

Dr Cam also conducts house calls on the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and other areas of South-east Queensland as needed. Additional travelling fees apply for these areas.

Benefits of a Full-Therapy House Call

  • An assessment of the problem (duration usually about 30 minutes).
  • Then the therapy follows and takes at least another 90 minutes.
  • A written report ('Your Front Page to Pethealth') is prepared on the spot so you have written confirmation of what you should be doing. This is like your own front page to Dr Cam's website.
  • You will be given a Sound Advice Audio Recording so that every word of therapy is trapped and nothing important falls between the floorboards. Most folk listen to that in their car while they are driving.
  • Free telephone back up is also provided for the duration of your web membership.
  • Reduced-fee recheck consultations are part of the service and are another member's benefit (see below).

Consultation hours are:-

  • Generally Friday through to Monday, thus including most Saturdays and Sundays

If you have booked a house call:-

  • Don't tidy the house – Dr Cam is very comfortable with mess! (Happy pets live in cluttered houses!!!)
  • Please provide a table and power point so that Dr Cam can take notes on his laptop which he will also use to show techniques and instructional photographs and also so he can produce your written 'Your Front Page to Pethealth' and your Sound Advice Audio Recording
  • If your pet is aggressive, please restrain him or her until Dr Cam can see what's happening – Dr Cam does bleed if bitten!

Terms and Conditions

  • The fee covers you for two hours of consultation time in your home and 50 kilometers of travel.
  • Any time after the two hours is time-charged at our normal rates (More details below, but two hours is normally sufficient).
  • Additional travelling fees usually apply where the journey is longer that 50 kilometers (25 km round trip). However, if your visit can be combined with others on the same journey, the travelling fee may be reduced.
  • To get the service at member's rates take up membership before making your booking. The site will then remove 10% from the fee.
  • Membership also provides 20% reduction in any further recheck consultations, free telephone support for its duration, full site access and enables you to make full use of 'Your Front Page to Pethealth' .

Fees and Charges

  • The consultation is time-charged. A two-hour house-call consultation is $752.64 if you pay at the time of the service.
  • If you pre-pay through an active Membership the site removes 10% from the fee. The fee is then $677.38
  • Member's discounts do not apply if you pay at the time of the service.
  • If you want additional time after the initial two hours, that is charged at $4.65 per minute (No member's discount applies to this additional time)
Recheck consultations
  • Any consultations after the initial consultation are called 'recheck' consultations
  • They are much shorter (often 30 minutes but you can have whatever time you need.)
  • The first recheck consultation, if needed, is generally 3 weeks after the first consultation.
  • Future recheck consultations may or may not be needed depending on the nature of your pet's behavioural problem.
  • The rate for a recheck consultation is the same per minute rate as the original consultation but is reduced by 20% if your membership is active.
  • To save on travelling fees, recheck consultations are normally conducted in our rooms in Fairfield, Brisbane.
  • If you prefer the recheck is conducted in your home, travelling fees will apply.
  • If Dr Cam is 'in your area' you may sometimes get an email regarding that. Reduced travelling fees apply when Dr Cam is 'in your area'.

Wonderful service. It was so much more convenient that you can to our home. We couldn't get Zoro to you so thanks. Your CD was excellent - helped us to remember all the good advice. Thanks from us and Woof from Zoro.

Cam, Thank you so much for your time earlier this week - it was a pleasure meeting you and receiving the easy-to-manage solutions you presented to us. Surveillance has commenced and we are keeping a record in preparation for our 3 week review. Mia is almost like a whole new girl! We absolutely LOVE the Leave-Come-Sit procedure - it's brilliant. All the best, Claire and Craig

Cam, thank goodness for house calls. To have Rambo assessed in his home environment was so important as you could see first hand his reactions to certain situations which would have been more difficult to observe in a surgery. I also believe more behaviours were evident in his environment and his actions prompted the relevant questions which we could expand on in detail. Travelling with him at this stage would have been difficult. We were very impressed with the extent of the investigations into his behaviours and I found this enabled you to diagnose him very accurately. I have full confidence in your diagnosis and we started to implement the lessons learned immediately on your departure. We will patiently continue with all your recommendations and look forward to a more relaxed and better behaved pup in the near future. Thanks again with kindest regards, Cheryl and Andrew Craig. P.S. I will probably start saying Leave, Come, Sit, Seek in my sleep soon!!
